Opened in 1981. Hours Peak Season - Sept 1 - May 30 Mon - Fri Noon - 9pm Off Season: June 1 - Aug 30 Mon - Fri 3pm-8pm. During the regular hours of operation of the lounge, the club is open to the general public. Each member has 24 house access to the club's facilities, however NSC employs a staff to run the lounge. Today the club consists of 140(off season) to 180 (peak season) members. NSC is a non-profit organization with member fees going directly to the daily operation of the club, as seen fit by the board of directors. An elected board of directors is charged with the management of NSC and employs a full time manager to run the day to day affairs of the club. In 1985 the ownership of the club was transferred to it's membership. It's primary focus was to provide Nautilus and Squash facilities for the Nanaimo area.
